After the successful bail out of the auto industry the government wisely made advance planning as a result of the Hostess Bakery Corporation crisis.

When all the Hostess Bakery plants shut down Friday as a result of a union strike idling some 18,000 workers.

The Obama administration will take action to hire most all of these displaced employees.

The State Department will hire the Twinkies,

the Secret Service will take the Ho Hos,

the Army generals will sleep with the Cupcakes

and all the Ding Dongs are going to Congress.

Let's see, I made some new switch plates to

 add some whimsy here and there

And made some tags from last years cards

This little shaker was rusted shut,

so it became a little ornament

I found a few old quilts in my Dad's shop when we clearing out the farm. Not good for much since even after washing...still stained and grubby. So I made a prim garland out of it

and added Cinnamon sticks.

Hoping to get decorations up this week...fingers crossed ;)

Today is B's Birthday!

He and T will be here tomorrow to celebrate it.

 

I made some of his requests yesterday.

Today I made a couple more.

What's in a name??

I made the cake he requested for his Birthday,

''Chocolate Throw Up Cake.''

We're a family of chocoholics

  

I developed this cake years ago

and it gets a request quite often.

It consists of:

 A two layer Chocolate Cake.

Chocolate frosting with chocolate chips in the middle and

chocolate or white chocolate chips on the outside with the frosting covering all.

Hence the name.

After a piece you're so chocolated out you feel like, well you know.....
but they still come back for more! LOL

I also made some Banana Bread for Monday morning breakfast.
